Rainfall Induced Landslides in Lebanon
To better protect the civil community in Lebanon against the risks imposed by rainfall-induced landslides, the TB Associates team has been tasked with identifying the locations and areas that contain a high risk of landslides due to high rainfall intensity events using GIS-based programs. Also, for that purpose, the TB Associates team has completed a detailed hydrological analysis of the country in order to study the soil infiltration and saturation process of the different soil types detected in Lebanon and to study the required rainfall intensity and depth needed for slope failure occurrence. Other services in this project are the identification of possible landslide risk on developments, roads, rails, and infrastructure, as well as proposing adequate protection measures.
